Even God's OWN CHOSEN PEOPLE--the Jews--failed greatly in this matter when they upheld traditions from of old. God SENT JESUS CHRIST to SHOW US THE WAY and BE THE WAY that pleases the Father. His work breaks EVERY chain of spiritual slavery... The book of Hebrews explains beautifully the difference between the Old covenant that the Jews kept as given by the Father and the NEW one that is in CHRIST JESUS. I highly recommend you read through it. :)
I can only leave you with these passages from the Word of God:

"But he (Jesus) answered and said unto them, Why do ye also transgress the commandment of God by your tradition?" (Matthew 15:3)

"Stand fast therefore in the LIBERTY wherewith Christ hath made us free, and BE NOT ENTANGLED again with the yoke of bondage. Behold, I Paul say unto you, that if ye be circumcised, Christ shall profit you nothing. For I testify again to every man that is circumcised, that he is a debtor to do the whole law. Christ is become of no effect unto you, whosoever of you are justified BY THE LAW; ye are fallen from grace. For we through the Spirit wait for the hope of righteousness by faith. For in Jesus Christ neither circumcision availeth any thing, nor uncircumcision; but faith which worketh by love." (Galatians 5:1-6)

Encounter God's Truth. God's Word IS Truth. I guess the question is then, what traditions have been programmed into people that is not God-centric?Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2711792045114629141.post-35579869125355373852012-01-12T12:13:46.610-06:002012-01-12T12:13:46.610-06:00Hi Anonymous!

James 1:22 reminds us that we should be "doers" of the Word and not just hearers of it. It is indeed a call to action for christians to LIVE a life that show the fruit of the Spirit that has been deposited in us when we become born again in Christ Jesus.
This post mainly concentrates on the spiritual slavery that entangles those who are not yet saved. Millions of people are enslaved with a belief system that teaches them to DO in order to gain salvation. Many are blinded to the Truth that we are saved ONLY BY GRACE. Thus, this post was written to address such case.
Salvation is not something we can STRIVE FOR and ACHIEVE. It is an undeserved favor from a Merciful God. There is a very fine line here because many have long been programmed to believe that doing "religious stuff" CAN and WILL help them get to heaven. There is ONLY one Way to the Father and that is through Jesus Christ our LORD and Savior. HIS FINISHED work on the cross is all that a sinful soul will need to TRUST into and believe in.
When we do become new creatures in Christ, our lives MUST reflect the life we now live in Christ Jesus. Spiritual slavery in this postfocuses its spotlight on one's Salvation rather than way of living. :)

May God bless you and yours always!Cookiehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/18318762086503373060noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2711792045114629141.post-53952696717084664922012-01-12T11:16:18.646-06:002012-01-12T11:16:18.646-06:00When we accept Jesus as our Savior, by His Grace w...When we accept Jesus as our Savior, by His Grace we are saved. But Jesus also said, "love one another", "be the good Samaritan". These are all call to actions to me. Jesus is telling me to act. We can't just sit on our chairs all day and do nothing. I don't think that the Lord will tell Mother Theresa, "I have already saved you, why are you trying to love your fellow man?".Anonymousnoreply@blogger.com
